Pipe Freezing
WMI is in the business of solving piping problems where the system is in operation and needs modification and/or repairs. Most importantly the system can not be drained or down for any extended period of time.
Our aluminum freeze jackets utilize liquid nitrogen and allows us to isolate pumps, valves, equipment etc. by forming an ice plug in the existing piping and hold the plug while the new valve (or any item) is replaced, repaired or modified.
This system has been used to isolate chilled/condenser water systems, glycol systems, domestic cold/hot water piping loops, fuel oil and fire sprinkler piping.
To give you an idea how fast we can obtain a freeze plug, an 8" chilled water line can be frozen in as little as 35 minutes.
Our present capabilities are up to 18" nominal pipe size.
